BELOW ARE BRIEF DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INGREDIENTS CONTAINED IN OUR K/B RENAL SUPPORT TEA:
JUNIPER BERRIES: Anti-septic (urinary), carminative, diuretic, lithotriptic, parasiticide, stimulant, stomachic, and tonic. Juniper berries are a highly effective antiseptic, especially in treating inflammation of the bladder and kidney problems.
HYDRANGEA: Anti-lithic, bitter, cathartic, diuretic, lithotriptic, tonic. Most common use is for the kidneys and bladder because of its effective diuretic quality which helps increase the flow of urine. This takes impurities out of the system and lessens the likelihood of infection along the entire urinary tract, which includes the kidneys, bladder, prostate (in men) and urethra.
GRAVEL ROOT: Anti-lithic, carminative, diuretic, lithotriptic (dissolves stones), stimulant, tonic. Gravel root acts as a diuretic and is used primarily for kidney stones or gravel. It has also been used for urinary tract infections such as cystitis (urinary tract inflammation) and urethritis (inflammation of the urethra).
ORANGE PEEL: Anti-inflammatory, carminative, stomachic, stimulant, and tonic. Orange peel is used to "reduce accumulation," whether it’s gas in the intestine, or stool in the bowels. Also added for flavor.
Parsley Root, Petroselinum crispum – Aperient, carminative, diuretic, and tonic. Culpepper tells us that parsley “is very comfortable to the stomach . . . good for wind and to remove obstructions both of the liver and spleen…”
GOLDENROD: Anti-inflammatory, carminative, diaphoretic, and diuretic. The traditional use of goldenrod was to treat kidney stones. The flavonoids and saponins in the herb help relieve inflammation throughout the urinary tract while acting as a mild diuretic.
PEPPERMINT: Alterative, antispasmodic, carminative, diaphoretic, digestive, stimulant, stomachic, and tonic. Peppermint is very useful as a muscle relaxant, especially useful in stopping spasms in the digestive tract. Is also useful in increasing the flow of all digestive juices, including bile. Also added for flavor.
Marshmallow: Demulcent, diuretic, laxative, lithotriptic, mucilant, and tonic. Marshmallow is anti-infammatory in nature and also works as an anti-irritant making it a soothing treatment for the gastro-intestinal tract, and urinary organs.
HORSETAIL: Carminative, diuretic, lithotriptic, and parasiticide. Horsetail has large amounts of silica, and has strong diuretic and astringent qualities making it useful for bladder and kidney infections.
CORN SILK: Alterative, cholagogue, diuretic, demulcent, lithotriptic, soothing, mild stimulant. Corn silk is highly valued as support for the urinary system. Has diuretic qualities and is a mild stimulant. Has been used as a treatment in urinary tract infections and for reducing kidney stone formation.
DANDELION ROOT: Alterative, aperient, bitter, cholagogue, deobstruent, depurgative, diuretic, hepatic, laxative, stimulant, stomachic, tonic. Dandelion root is a blood and kidney cleanser and tonic, as well as a diuretic. It is used as a general cleansing stimulant for the liver.
CARROT TOPS: Carminative, diuretic, and stimulant. Carrot tops can help treat chronic kidney disease and affections of the bladder.
